Each week 12 babies in New Zealand are born with a congenital heart defect. Some of these babies face the reality of life-saving open heart surgery within the first few hours or days of their lives.

Heart Kids supports kiwi kids and their families affected by congenital heart defects right from this moment and throughout their lives.

Heart Kids Taranaki is one of 18 branches providing financial, practical and emotional support for these kids and their families. Through home and hospital visits, information, advocacy, connecting families with others in similar situations through coffee groups, family event days, education evenings, CPR training, travel grants and care packs.

In Taranaki we have over 100 families throughout the region that we support.

Heart Kids receives no government funding, so local funding support is vital.  We are a small charity with a big job to do.
