Christmas At The Bowl is a spectacular community event at the iconic TSB Bowl of Brooklands each December. The Christmas At The Bowl Trust was established in 2003 with the objective to stage an annual, free Christmas concert for the benefit of the people of New Plymouth and the community of Taranaki and has grown in popularity ever since.

Relying on fantastic sponsors and gold coin donations on the night this annual event is our own celebration of Christmas incorporating the largest variety show of the year, exceptional Taranaki talent and the renowned Christmas At The Bowl fireworks display – a fun-filled family occasion for all to enjoy.

Gates open at 5.00pm with audience members encouraged to bring along the family and a picnic dinner to really enjoy the atmosphere of the event. Food stalls are available at the venue for further convenience. Pre-show entertainment is provided by a local band from 6.30pm with Christmas At The Bowl Variety Show from 8pm. NP Brass lead everyone’s favourite Christmas carols during the evening and the big screen ensures that every seat in the Bowl can enjoy the stage performances.

Entry is by gold coin donation with many local groups assisting with the running of the event. The night concludes around 9.30pm with the Christmas At The Bowl Fireworks Spectacular. This is definitely an event ‘for the community by the community’ and something that everyone can afford to do with their family to celebrate the festive season.

Proudly sponsored by NZME, TSB Community Trust, NZ Community Trust, Powerco & AWE.
Trust members Kinsley Sampson, John Armstrong, Judith Jolly, John Honnor & Rod Greensill work with an organising committee to ensure the event remains a positive focus for the entire province and retains a true Taranaki heart.
