Tēnā koutou

It was an awesome Easter weekend for Taranaki businesses. Figures from Paymark show Taranaki’s retail spending over the 4-day Easter weekend was 26% higher than the same period in 2019! It was the highest growth rate in the country compared to every other region. Thank you Taranaki for continuing to support our local businesses!

The cost of doing business has never been so high. The challenge for our businesses is to be more productive. This means getting maximum return on investment. Whether it’s time, labour or any other resource. There is a need to work smarter, not necessarily harder. Here are some handy tips on increasing productivity –

  • Set small goals, i.e. breakdown a job into small achievable tasks
  • Take short breaks - this actually helps in better performance
  • Turn off those notifications, which make you reactive, instead of pro-active
  • Minimise interruptions of any sort
  • Avoid unproductive meetings
  • Embrace technology

Together we can keep Taranaki thriving.
