TSB Festival of Lights

50 Days and Nights of Entertainment & Lights.

TSB Festival of Lights is a seven-week, free event made up of beautiful light features and epic events including music and daytime activities for kids and seniors. Lights on 8.30pm – 11pm every night, rain or shine.

Entertainment. The festival isn't just about lights! Our entertainment programme draws hundreds onto the lawns of Pukekura Park to soak up the atmosphere and tunes from musicians of all genres.

Summer Scene Kids Load your summer holidays with daytime events that inspire, entertain and excite. These events are ideal for children from five to 12 years old.

Summer Senior We've created a lineup of events for our 60+ community, with activities ranging from tai chi to get you moving, through to a relaxing cup of tea and beautiful music at the TSB Bowl of Brooklands.

NPDC’s Let’s Go has launched RIDE Summertime Rolls – a series of community cycling events for people of all interests and abilities. So grab a bike, grab your mates, and check out some these great events.

The Good Home Taranaki Off-Road Half Marathon 
Saturday 18 January

5km | 10km | 21km | 21km team relay. Situated only 10 minutes drive from New Plymouth, this Off-Road Half Marathon course winds around a breathtaking 21km loop of the stunning Lake Mangamahoe. Runners will take in all the tracks, including the awesome single file mountain bike tracks. 

Along with the Half Marathon distance, runners could instead opt to tackle the slightly shorter, yet just as challenging, Quarter Marathon and 5km distances too.

BDO Around The Mountain Cycle Challenge

One of the best recreational rides in the country, something for everyone. Solo 2 laps, 148km, 74km and 74km E Bike. 2 person and up to 6 person relays. Inter School Relay 3 persons.Accumulator where riders are collected at each transition change over with all riders finishing together. Also the new and exciting Mitre 10 Mega 50km and 30 km mountain bike event category.

Mitre10 Mega MTB Race
Saturday, 25 January 2020

A 50km & 30km MTB event will run in conjunction with the BDO Around The Mountain Cycle Challenge on 25 January 2020. The course will be a combination of single track, cycleway, and road road. Ride from New Plymouth's TSB Stadium through the Te Henui cycle path out to Lake Mangamahoe MTB park. From there the course is a mixture or Grade 2-3 single track. To Finish riders will return via the main road back to the Stadium.
