Nominations can be made in your store, at all TSB branches across Taranaki or online at www.taranakitopshop.co.nz
Please note that only one online nomination for each category can be made from an IP address. Unfortunately it is not possible to provide pads of nomination forms to every shop in Taranaki. If you require nomination forms please contact the Chamber. We will send an electronic version for you to print additional copies. You may prefer to encourage your customers to nominate you online.
IMPORTANT - It is the responsibility of businesses to drop all paper nominations to a TSB branch or into Chamber House by 12 noon on Monday 6 May – they will not be collected!

WHO CAN BE NOMINATED?
This competition is appropriate for those who have retail premises. The judging criteria is not just limited to how great your customer service is. Please see the following areas that are included for judging:
- Phone Manner
- Exterior and Interior of Premises including signage, lighting and maintenance
- Shop and Window displays
- Staff Presentation, Interaction and Product Knowledge
You do not have to be a member of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce to be nominated, judged or win any of these awards.
Anyone who makes a nomination will go in the draw to win with The Devon Hotel.
A banner will be delivered to the top 80 businesses nominated (10 per category). This is to be displayed in the shop window. Finalists will then be ‘Mystery Shopped’ by the official TSB Top Shop Judges from Thursday 9 May.
Please note that written feedback from the judges will only be provided for the three Regional winners and the Supreme Award winner.
Winners will be announced at the Awards evening on Saturday 15 June at The Devon Hotel. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday 8 May and will cost $85 +GST ($97.75) per person. Please purchase your tickets early as this event sells out every year.

ACCESSIBILITY IN SHOPS
30% of people living in Taranaki have a long term impairment that affects their everyday lives. Consider the accessible journey from the nearest accessible car park or bus stop to the shop entrance, throughout the shop, at the counter and leaving the premises.
Can someone with aids such as a wheelchair, crutches or a pram or someone who is blind or vision impaired, enter and move around your shop unassisted? Are your staff friendly and comfortable in offering customer service to someone with a physical or intellectual impairment?
Tips: Shop entrance visible and uncluttered, Entrance door that opens easily and wide, Door hardware at an accessible height, Space to move around the shop and up to the displays, Seating available (some customers need brief rests), Accessible counter space – think approach, height and knee/toe space, Hearing loss sign displayed on counter (available from Hearing Association), Friendly, helpful attitude, Price tags written in easy to read font, Legible business cards and promotional information, Website using good contrasting colours for all its content, Accessibility information on website, Exits signposted, Unobstructed footpath approach to the shop, Accessible car parking in the vicinity.
