TSB is awarded people’s choice for third year in a row

New Plymouth, New Zealand – TSB has won the Consumer NZ People’s Choice award for Banking for the third year in a row, following the results of the 2018 Consumer NZ bank survey.
To achieve the People’s Choice award, a brand must stand out in terms of customer satisfaction. TSB had the highest customer satisfaction result at 87% and is the first bank to receive this award for three consecutive years. It also scored above average on four of Consumer NZ’s five core performance measures.
Consumer NZ’s banking survey data is from is a nationally representative survey of 1544 New Zealanders, aged 18 and older, carried out online in February 2018. The survey asks respondents to rate their main bank across five key measures and satisfaction ratings show the proportion of respondents who scored their bank 8, 9 or 10 on a scale from 0 (very dissatisfied) to 10 (very satisfied). TSB general manager marketing Brent Woodhead says the result is a testament to TSB’s customer-first promise.
“We pride ourselves on being a 100% New Zealand-owned bank that puts customers at the heart of everything we do. We’re thrilled to see our commitment to customers being acknowledged for three years in a row by the Consumer NZ People’s Choice award for Banking. TSB had a big year last year with its rebrand and these results show that although we look different, our values remain the same,” he says.
Consumer NZ chief executive Sue Chetwin says New Zealand banks continue to rate best for customer satisfaction.
“TSB had the happiest customers with 87% very satisfied with the bank’s service. The Co-operative Bank was close behind followed by Kiwibank. Aussie-owned banking giants ANZ and ASB ranked last with both banks rated below-average for value for money and their customers were more likely to be thinking about switching,” she says.
