DEPUTY CHAIR

Mediaworks Radio Taranaki- General Manager
Heather Lucas was appointed to the Chamber’s board in 2011.

The most valuable asset the Chamber offers is the opportunity for business in the region to have One Voice.

Throughout my career, my focus has been on business development, strategic brand management, marketing and sales. Working in Industrial Relations, Conference Management, Financial Services and IT finally led me to Radio 12 years ago. I was General Manager in the Wairarapa for Mediaworks until we moved to Taranaki in late 2009. During my time in the Wairarapa I was instrumental in the resurgence of the regional Chamber of Commerce. I served on the Board for three years.

After working in both Taranaki and the Wairarapa, both with three separate regional councils, I recognise the importance of not only having strong, vibrant, local business associations – but also the advantage a Chamber of Commerce brings for all business to speak with one voice.

I am currently Deputy Chair of the Chamber and have been an active participant on the Board for four years.

I am married with two children and have a BA Hons (First) in History from Otago University.
